Rāta Ahurei Tarai Waka Symposium Tuia te Here Tangata

The Symposium was held over 3 weeks which brought 3 Teams from Hawai’i, Tahiti and Aotearoa, together at Hihiaua. From this saw 3 waka created from logs and 2 waka refurbished.  It was amazing to see 3 crews and 3 different styles of Tarai waka resulting in not only the creation of new waka but also the sharing of matauranga and wisdom.
